Womens Interclub Teams Update – 12th June
This week our Minor Cup Team took on Howth Golf Club. Howth reached the All Ireland Final of this competition last year and arrived displaying their TeeShirts embellished with “ Ireland finalists of Minor Cup “. This did not upset our home team of Betty Murphy/Loreto Lynch/Peggy O Sullivan/Moya Gorey who won both their matches. In Howth, we lost both matches. As Howth were on top of the draw the playoff was played in Howth. Suzanne O Kane and Caroline Anyanwu were the pair chosen and they put up a fantastic fight going to the 3rd playoff hole to be beaten by a putt. Hard luck to Genevieve O Grady Team Manager and her team who were great getting to the third round.
We face a very busy weekend with our Senior Foursomes Team taking on Balbriggan, one match in Skerries and two in Balbriggan. Best of luck to Mary Kenny and her team as she tries to defeat our neighbors. Maire Keoghs Challenge Trophy Team face Rush this match starts at 2.30 pm with all 5 matches in Skerries. This is a nine hole stableford competition for handicaps 36 plus. Three best scores to count.
On Sunday the Revive Active Team meet St Anne’s with two matches at each venue. Camilla Mc Loughlin is the manager of this team. Next Thursday June 19th, Fiona Farrell’s Intermediate Foursomes face Headford two matches at home two away.
