Ladies Team News
On Friday 25 th April the North Dublin Past Lady Captains celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Association with golf and dinner in Donabate Golf Club.The weather on the day was miserable but despite this Past Captain Sylvia Alcock won her class and President Hilda Cussen was 3rd in her class. Mary Mc Kenna MBE attended the dinner and presented the Mc Kenna Cup to the overall winner Gillian Guinness ( Howth ).
We headed back to Donabate on Sat 26th for the second leg of the Carton Cup. Congratulations to the Team won secured a win and progress to the second round where they will meet Corrstown. Thanks to Nuala Mc Grath and Sheila Mc Gloughlin who are doing great work with this rookie side. Golf Ireland Interclub competitions commenced on Sunday 27th April with Fiona Farrells Intermediate Foursomes who took on a strong St Anne’s side. After a very tight first nine holes, Noreen Giblin, Lizzie Hughes, Joan O’Brien and Jane Branagan secured 2 wins at home. In St Anne’s Ciara Boylan and Sonia Neary had a great victory to bring us into the second round where we meet Black Bush.
On Monday the Fingal Seniors began their campaign as they took on Elm Green. Pauline Gaughran /Yvonne Daniels /Trudy Henry /Geraldine Neary won in Elm Green, Mary Dowling /Peggy O Sullivan secured a win at home. Next match we meet Forest Little on May 19th.
On Monday 5th May the North Leinster Mixed Team takes place at Royal Tara at 3.30pm
