Ladies Team News 10th July
This week we exited 2 competitions.
On Sunday afternoon the North Leinster Mixed Team met Greenore who had home advantage. They won 2 matches on home soil , Lizzie Hughes and Peter Mc Donnell won well in Skerries. Unfortunately Ciara Boylan and Anthony Hand having battled bravely lost their match on the 18th hole so Greenore now advance to the next round. Many thanks and hard luck to Elaine and Philip McGLoughlin / Joan and Robert Kehoe who managed the Team this year.
On Sunday evening in very cold windy and showery conditions our Senior Foursomes Team played Balbriggan. Balbriggan had home advantage and they won the first match and this was followed by a home win for Skerries. It was then down to the final pairings to battle it out. It was a super match and ended tied on the 18th hole. We headed up the 19th and with Sarah Jane Mc Nally and Fiona Farrell on the green we all watched as our own Evelyn Tolan chipped into the hole for a birdie 3 to end our hopes of making the next round. We wish Evelyn and her team good luck in the next round where they face The Island. Many thanks to Mary Kenny who managed the team.
Having reported last week that we finished in second place of section one of the Fingal League behind the Island I am delighted to report that due to our good scores we have advanced to the quarter final of the competition.
We have been drawn to play Corrstown on a date to be arranged before August 15th.
On Saturday 12th July Maire Kehoe’s Leinster Women’s Challenge Trophy are playing Black Bush. All matches will be played in Skerries. On Sunday Grainne O Connors Junior Cup Team play Dundalk with Dundalk having home advantage 3 matches in Dundalk and 2 in Skerries.
We wish all those playing the best of luck.
