Ladies Inter Club Team Update – 6th June
Last weekend our Junior Cup Panel began the season with a match against St Annes, 2 matches at home and 2 away. We were treated to great golf both at home and away with Joanne Kinsella and Ciara Boylan both winning their matches by the 13th. Jen O’Loghlen finished her very tough match on the 17th. Sarahjane McNally was called in on the 16th in St Annes 2up. The team meet the winners of Malahide/Laytown & Bettystown, match to be played by June 29th.
On Monday the Intermediate Foursomes played their second round match against Black Bush. The matches both home and away were played in very tough rainy conditions. We secured a home win with Noreen Giblin and Lizzy Hughes and 2 halved matches one at home and one away which necessitated a playoff in Skerries. Noreen and Lizzie rose to the task with 3 great shots to the green to win the first playoff hole. The Team now meet Headford in the Leinster quarter final on 19th June.
This weekend the Minor Cup Team play round 3 match against Howth, 2 matches in Skerries and 2 away. We wish Betty Murphy/Loreto Lynch, Peggy O’Sullivan/Moya Gorey in Skerries and Vice Captain Mary Hanlon/Louise Shannon, Suzanne Kane/Caroline Anyanwu in Howth all the best of luck. Matches commence at 2.30 in both venues so once again please try to support our team by coming out and cheering them on.
