Men’s Interclub Teams Update – 7th May

Round 3 – Jimmy Bruen versus Hollywood Lakes

Congratulations to the Skerries Jimmy Bruen team who won their 2nd round match against Hollywood Lakes by 3 to 1 on Sunday 4th May.  The match swung back and forth over the first 9 holes but at the turn, the Skerries team stepped up a gear and built up a strong lead.  With 2 matches in the bag, it was left to Gavan Farrell and Stan Pyke to deliver the final point that got us over the line.  There was some tremendous golf on display throughout the match and it was great to see the support from the members for the team.  It was particularly nice to see the juniors out supporting Evan Goss (and Paul O’Loughlin) in the 5 and 3 victory.  Our reward is a 3rd round match against Forest Little.

Round 1 – North Leinster Mixed versus Royal Tara

Congratulations to our North Leinster Mixed Foursomes team who had a great win over Royal Tara last Sunday.  The home pairings won both games, and the first pairing in Royal Tara had a convincing win on the 14th which brought the match to a close and a great overall win for Skerries.  Well done to the players and management team (Joan Kehoe, Elaine and Philip McGloughlin), and the club for their support. Next round is away to Greenore.

Next weekend, Skerries take on Forrest Little in the Flogas Irish Mixed foursomes with 2 matches at home and away.  If you are around, we would be delighted to see you come out and support the team.  Live scoring has proved very popular with members so if you can’t make it out, keep up-to-date at  https://club.smartgolfsystems.com/interclub/skerries
