Volunteers Wanted at Skerries Golf Club
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO MEMBERS
Closure Due to Status Red Storm Warning
To ensure the safety of our staff and members, the Committee of Management has decided that the golf course, office, clubhouse, and pro shop will be closed tomorrow, Friday, 24th January 2025, due to the issuance of a Status Red storm warning.
A review of the course is intended to be conducted early Saturday morning to assess any storm damage. Members will be informed of the findings and the course’s playability status as soon as possible thereafter.

If you have some free time on a Thursday and would like to join the course volunteers, please contact Robert Kehoe on 086 817 7912.

Congratulations to our member Maria Dunne who was recently announced as the Captain of the Great Britain and Ireland Vagliano Trophy Team, which will be held in Royal Hague Golf & Country Club in June.

Ladies Spring Team Matchplay 2025                     
A 9-hole Matchplay tournament in teams will commence in early February.  This will afford members an opportunity to practice match play and brush up on their skills before the commencement of the Inter Club matches.

This tournament is open to all categories of membership holding an established handicap. If you would like to participate, please place your name on the list in the Ladies Locker Room or alternately contact Mary Concannon (0861281225) or Mary Dowling at (0872112591) via What’s App.

Entry Fee: €5 deducted from your card.
Closing Date for Entries: Saturday, 1st February 2025
Teams: In categories subject to entry numbers
Start/End Date:  Mid-February – end of April (subject to weather conditions)

Interclub Teams
Interclub Golf competitions will shortly be commencing for the 2025 Season and Golf Ireland has recently published the match draws.

Interclub golf has many benefits for participants, and I would encourage members to put themselves forward for selection to one of the panels.  Most players find that actively participating in teams improves their game and brings a new dynamic to their enjoyment of golf.  It is one of the few opportunities that golf offers as a team sport.

The Men’s and Ladies Committee have entered the following Interclub Competitions in 2025 which allow members in all handicap categories to participate.

If you are interested in representing Skerries Golf Club in 2025, please contact the relevant team manager or ourselves if one is not yet appointed.
