Golf ball going into golf hole
RESPECT! RESPECT! RESPECT!

Hopefully winter golf is nearly over and as we all look forward to a wonderful season in 2025, we ask that all ensure to continue to show respect.

Respect for the Timesheet
One of the most common causes of delays on the course is members not being ready to play at their designated tee time.  The timesheet is in place to facilitate all members and you should be ready to tee off at least 5 minutes before your designated tee time.  Be aware that if it is a Back 9 competition it can take extra time to get to the 10th tee box.  Members who fail to tee off on time are liable to be penalised or even be disqualified under the rules of golf. Rule 5.3a

Respect Fellow Players
Members are reminded to always show respect to other members on the course.  Often, you can only see the group of players in front of you and may not be aware of what is happening in front of them.

Respect the Course
Until the winter season is over, all players should be adhering to the winter mats policy – including those playing casual golf.  Members should also have their sand bags to fill in any divots – including divots taken during practice swings where winter mat will be used.

We all want our fabulous course in the best condition possible for ourselves, visitors and guests, and we all play a role in achieving that.

Remember the 3 R’s
Repair Pitch Marks
Replace Divots
Rake Bunkers

Log Day
We will have a log day this Saturday 1st March from 10am to 1pm for members only.

  • Car Boot load per member
  • A Car boot load is a boot with the rear seat still in upright position.
  • Collection point is the area near the buggy sheds.

The volunteers on duty will not be filling the car boot for members, if you need assistance doing so, please bring somebody with you.

We will advise of future log days when are course staff are able to bring logs in from the course.

Thank you
The Junior Committee would like to place on record our thanks and appreciation to all the members who have contributed to our appeal for “Experienced” golf balls.

So far in the tote box in the Men’s Locker Room we have received over 300 good quality golf balls for sharing among our Junior Girls and Boys in the coming 2025 season.

The tote box is still in place in the locker room and we would be happy to continue to receive your donations.

Club Mixed
Our first Mixed event will be on Friday April 4th.  Tee times from 2.30 to 5.30 with a glass of bubbly will be served at 7.30 followed by a one plate meal.

After the success of last years mixed competitions, we urgently need help to run this year’s mixed. If you feel you could help on a couple of evenings please contact one of the following:
Declan and Orlagh Bowers, Mary Paul Mulligan, Mary Kenny, Ciara Boylan or Des Whyte.

A full schedule of the 2025 mixed events will be distributed shortly.
