Ladies Inter Club Update 21st August

Ladies Inter Club

Last weekend we played St Margaret’s in the quarter final of the Revive Active Golf Ireland competition.

We came up against a very strong St Margaret’s Team and unfortunately we lost the match. We have watched some great matches from this team all summer and we all feel their loss. This was a highly competitive competition so the Ladies have done us proud.  Many thanks to Camilla McLoughlin and her helper Fiona Farrell for all the work and support they have given this team.

On a brighter note we hosted the CAWS Cup first round on Sunday and in glorious sunshine we beat Ashbourne.

Having drawn the short straw Skerries hosted the first round of ‘The C.A.W.S Cup (Corrstown, Ashbourne, Westmanstown & Skerries) on Sunday 17th August, 2025.

Hosting 20 team players & caddies plus Lady Captains & Lady Vice Captains was an optimum opportunity to showcase Skerries.  A warm welcome (tea & coffee on arrival) beautiful course, and last but not least… beautiful sandwiches, tea & coffee.  The feedback from all clubs was great. Thanks to all involved especially to team caddies, Deirdre Durkan, Lydia, Bobby & Anita for helping make this a wonderful occasion.

Next Sunday 24th August, we will be hosted in Corrstown and also play Corrstown in the second round.  The 3rd round is on 31st August at Westmanstown v Skerries.  The 4th and final round is at Ashbourne and the draw for teams will be made in the day.  This is a lovely introduction to matchplay for ladies who want to delve into club competitions.  Ladies with Handicaps Index 30 to 45 are encouraged to take part.

Sunday 17/08/25 Results

Skerries played Ashbourne

3 1/2 to 1 1/2

Corrstown played Westmanstown

3 1/2 to 1 1/2

An enjoyable competition and anyone interested in playing or caddying is appreciated.

We wish Mary Hanlon and her team all the best.
