VOLUNTERS NEEDED

Skerries GC is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all our members. In this spirit, we are reaching out to members with two important requests:

We kindly ask members who have First Aid Responder or Cardiac First Responder training to consider volunteering their names for inclusion on a special list within the BRS system. This list will highlight trained individuals playing on the course, enhancing our ability to respond swiftly in case of emergencies.

Looking ahead to 2025, we are gauging interest in Cardiac First Responder training. If you would like to participate in this potentially life-saving course, please contact the club office, or our Health and Safety officer Nick Sharkey on 0868310457.

LADY CAPTAIN’S AWAY DAY

Lady Captain’s Away Trip took our ladies to Moyvalley Golf Club on Thursday 12th September, and what an enjoyable day it was! Everyone had a great day of golf and dinner. Special thanks to the singers who entertained us with their after-dinner renditions!

SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE

On the 22nd November, the Club held a memorial service, reviving a tradition absent for several years. Members, friends, and relatives gathered to honor those who passed away in the last 5 years, allowing our community to come together, share memories, and pay tribute to our departed members.

GOLD STANDARD AWARD

Skerries Golf Club achieved the Gold Award in the Women in Golf Charter, led by Lady Captain Elaine. This recognition reflects the club’s ongoing commitment to equality. This year’s Get Into Golf Programme attracted 22 women, with 13 joining as full members! Lady Captain Elaine will continue overseeing this initiative and serving as the Women in Golf Charter Champion in 2025, with gratitude extended to all volunteer mentors.
