Subscription Reminder

We sincerely appreciate all members who have taken the time to contact the Office regarding their 2025 subscriptions.Your prompt attention to this matter helps ensure a smooth and efficient process for everyone.

If you have not yet reached out, we kindly ask that you do so to prevent any potential disruptions to your golf.

Please be aware that restrictions have been applied to timesheets, which will affect BRS access.

Junior Subscriptions

The 2025 subscriptions for Junior members will be issued in the 1st week of April.

Log Day
We will have a log day this Saturday 22nd February from 10am to 1pm for members only.

  • 1 Car Boot load per member
  • A Car boot load is a boot with the rear seat still in upright position.
  • Collection point is the area near the buggy sheds.

To ensure all members have an opportunity to get firewood, we ask members to take only 1 car boot load on the day. 

The volunteers on duty will not be filling the car boot for members, if you need assistance doing so, please bring somebody with you.

We will advise of future log days when are course staff are able to bring logs in from the course.

Course Update
Early overseeding has now been agreed and a date has been given when Carr will provide us with the overseeder which will be Monday 24th of February weather permitting.  We hope to do this seeding with a double pass at half the rate to try and hit a bigger area of the green to aid the recovery of the scars. A light topdressing of sand will follow the seeding.

We will not be closing for overseeding as we have temporary holes cut in the approaches which will be used while this process takes place. On Tuesday 25th there may be some holes to complete and we may have some temporary greens in play on the day for the ladies but we will try our best to have the process complete before this.

Hedge cutting has started and is leaving some wheel marks that will recover quickly in the spring.

Tree contractors are onsite this week and will finish as much of the clean-up of trees as possible assisted by the course staff by early next week, with the course staff finishing the remainder of the clean up in the coming weeks.

New Arrivals
New Divot Bag stands have been placed at the 1st tee box and exit from the 18th green.

To facilitate our members that use pedal power to get to the club, a bike stand has been installed under the Snack bar for bikes to be securely locked.

Gala Dinner
We have had a great response to bookings for our Gala Dinner, 70 have booked so far with only 20 space left.

If you have not booked your place yet, contact Ciara, Rona or Des to confirm.

Men’s Winter League Results
Congratulations to the winners of the Men’s Winter League.
Men’s McDonnell Cup Interclub Golf
Skerries Golf Club are planning to enter the Men’s McDonnell Cup in 2025.

This competition is for players over 25 years of age on 31st March 2025 and a minimum handicap of 15.5 on 1st January 2025.  The competition is a fourball format with 5 pair on each team.  Handicaps are subject to an effective maximum of 19 for the competition.

Save the Date
Golf Balls for Juniors
The Junior Committee have placed a tote box with a secure lid and a hole in the top for members to deposit used “experienced” golf balls for our Junior Boys and Girls.

Already the members have responded very positively and there are over 50 balls donated so far so many thanks to all the members and keep the donations coming.
